Hot Cell Sensors

Our Hot Cell® sensors, invented in-house, are used for testing Specific Heat Capacity (Cp). They consist of a thin metal container with lid, where a TPS element is permanently attached to its base. It is important that the lid can be closed tight without being obstructed by the sample or component to be tested inside. The metal container is thermally insulated with a low-density foam insulation that is included in the sensors’ configuration. We offer a wide range of Hot Cell® sensors with different cell shapes and volumes to accommodate different types and sizes of materials and components. For components the focus is currently on common battery geometries. We also offer Hot Cell® sensors with customized cell shapes and volumes, to accommodate uncommon or new battery geometries. With our Hot Cell® sensors, the Cp of batteries can be tested at ambient temperatures between -60°C and 180°C.
